So, typically I use yyyy-mm-dd, because it is simply the best for archival purposes.1 It is also very logical.
But here at the substrate, we believe in balancing the left brain with the right—and the fact of the matter is that colloquially, we refer to dates as “June 2nd, 2025” (for example). I want to model this colloquialism-ness, in order to emphasize my more conversational approach to writing.
